The Return of Muffie??
By JJ Nott aka: GoingGhost
To tell this ghost story I need to give you a little background. About 20+ years ago I had an orange tabby cat named Muffie. He was born in the house (about 1976) that I still live in to his calico mother Fancy. Even finding out that he was born is story in itself. One July morning, dad was getting ready for work. Fancy kept coming up to him and back to the basement door as if she wanted to show him something. Dad followed her downstairs. At the bottom of the steps in a box was Fancy with a little tiny orange kitten. The only one. Very rare to have al litter of one. Muffie lived in the same house with me for all of his years, controlling us. I think he was in charge more than me. He used to fight with our dog Peanut, ambushing him when Peanut walked around a corner. If he wanted to lay down next to you in a recliner, he would jump up on the arm and just look at you until you have to give in. Muffie was an inside/outside cat, so when he wanted outside, he would stretch up and tap the doorknob, making it rattle and when he wanted in, he would jump up on the screen door and look in, telling me that he wanted in. Muffie disappeared for a months time. He came back dehydrated but alive, still do not know where he was. Food time was exciting also, because when he wanted fed, he wanted it now. Even though you were still in bed, he would jump up on the end of the bed and make his way up to get into your face and meow at you until you got up. Muffie’s body gave out, even though his mind was still active. Had to put him to sleep, he was in his mid 20’s. I think he was 22 or 23 years old.
My ghost story begins about 6 months ago. I was in bed, just being waked up in the middle of the night, trying to get back to sleep. Reading books about ghosts, I know that it gets cold when one is around. This is what happened to me. I had a blanket on my bed, along with the covers and it still was not enough. The chills would not go away, they were going up my spine. But what happened next was what really scared me. I was feeling something coming up from the end of the bed. It felt like what Muffie used to do. I was feeling this along my backside. I was trying not to get scared but that did not happen. Kept feeling the "footprints" along my back, coming up towards me. I cannot remember if this "ghost" reached my head or not. What I was trying to do was push whatever was there against the wall. Finally the coldness and the spirit went away. I woke up the next morning wondering if what happen really did.
Mom even believes that his spirit walks the house. She says that sometimes she feels "footprints" on the bed.
Is Muffie's spirit in this house??
Here are some pictures of Muffie. These were taken when he was in his teens.
